On a sunny summer afternoon, St Wilfrid’s Church hosted an outstanding concert by the Kibworth Band and Youth Band. Conducted by Brendan Caddy, the concert featured many solo performances.
Alex Tripp started the solo performances with “Whirlwind” on Baritone, which was an extraordinary performance showcasing his exceptional talent and technical skills.
Isaac played “Iona” on Tenor Horn, displaying his excellent musicianship and emotional expression. Carol Smith followed with “Demelza,” another memorable solo on Tenor Horn.
Mark Smith’s solo on Euphonium during “Donegal Bay” was impressive, showcasing his musicality and mastery of the instrument.
The concert was a journey through a variety of musical styles, including the dynamic and thrilling “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the lively and festive “Padstow Lifeboat,” and the exciting and uplifting “Caravan” featuring Sam Haigh on trombone, who gave a mesmerizing performance.
The concert finale, “Blenheim Flourishes,” left the audience in awe and appreciation for the talent and skills of the Kibworth Band.
The Youth Band, conducted by Sam Haigh, gave a fantastic performance, including a medley of popular Abba songs that left the audience dancing and singing along. The percussion solo during the comedy number of “Liberty Bell March” was a real treat for everyone to watch.
Overall, the Kibworth Band and Youth Band Summer Afternoon Concert at Kibworth Church was a phenomenal experience that showcased the exceptional talent and skills of the musicians.
