We are very pleased to hear the news this week, that two of our young players will be joining the National Youth Brass band for the 2023 season.
For Ciaran, currently playing Repiano Cornet for Kibworth Band, this will be his third year with the National Youth Band. Ciaran said;
“It’s a lot of fun as well as hard work, and I’m looking forward to returning to continue to develop my playing. It’s been such a great experience, I’m really pleased to have been invited back again.”
Isaac, our 1st Horn and the youngest player in the senior band, will be joining for the first time.
“I had such a great time at the National Children’s Brass Band course and I’m really looking forward to the challenge of playing in the youth band, along with the opportunities that opens up for me,” said Isaac.
To qualify to play in the National Youth Brass Band you must be of a Grade 8 standard, and successfully complete an audition. Both players have put in a lot of hard work to be offered their new positions. Their fellow Kibworth Band players are all really proud of their achievements – and look forward to them sharing what they have learned.
