Congratulations go to our young cornetist – Ciaran – who has continued to practice hard throughout the last year of lockdowns and has entered a competition ran by the Great Bowden Recital Trust.
This year the competition was ran online and entries were submitted as a video entry. In total the GBRT recieved 60 entries of instrumental, vocal and composition entries. Each entry is given feedback from an experienced musician.
Ciaran entered the competition playing the lively Tico Tico written by Zequinha Abreu. Out of nearly 30 instrumental entries, Ciaran’s entry was described as “a technically challenging piece and [he] made it look effortless and stood out right from the start” and earnt him the award of Best Instrumentalist 2021.
