We are pleased to welcome you to some new players who have recently joined us at the Kibworth Band.
Sharon and Gary Lewin, and their son Nathan have joined us along with Mike Wildman. They previously played with the Wigston Band but have helped us out with some of our summer season and have enjoyed it with us so much they decided to make the move.
Sharon has joined us on second baritone, which has meant our section has shuffled a little. Mark Smith has moved onto second euphonium and our rising star Alex has moved up to first baritone. Nathan has taken up the bass trombone position and Mike and Gary have taken up positions on Eb and Bb bass respectively.
We are looking forward to working with the experience these four players bring to the foundation of the band.
We are still looking for a Principal Cornet, Second Trombone, BBb Bass and Percussionist to complete our line up as we start to prepare for the LBBA contest in November. If you are interested any of the positions please contact our band manager, Mark Smith on 07963466380.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Lauren Copple who has been helping us out on second trombone over the summer. Lauren started playing through our youth band and is now studying music at Birmingham Uni and has played through our summer season whilst home from uni. We’ve enjoyed having you around and wish you all the best on your return to university.
