Kibworth Band were deeply saddened by the news that Her Majesty the Queen passed away yesterday afternoon. Our thoughts and sympathies are extended to the Royal Family at this sad time and we join the nation in mourning our much-loved monarch.
As a mark of respect we opened our rehearsal last night with the National Anthem as a tribute to her memory.
Her Majesty was an advocate for brass bands and will be sorely missed. We were honoured to have played for her on several occasions, most recently on her Diamond Jubilee tour in 2012.
